Origins:

C.N.R. replaced the Grand Trunk Pacific Station (1908) after a fire.

Features:

-  First Grand Trunk Pacific passenger service Sept. 21, 1908
- First mail Oct 5, 1908
- reflects the role of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway (GTPR) in determining the economic growth of the town.
- banding of cement and brick on exterior walls
-
-its roof line, consisting of a broad, slightly bellcast hip roof,
- half-timber and stucco treatment on the second-storey gables

-surviving original interior layout and finishes on the second floor, including trim and mouldings

-  was 2 or 3 buildings
- one part was a dance hall
- basement contained four pillars from the Clarion Hotel

- Original Building 1906 was first North American Lumberyard in Canada
- once had suites and a Barbershop
- business established before the Railway arrived
